(Wakefield, MA) – The Donald E Garrant Foundation, Inc. of The Savings Bank (TSB) has awarded a $2,500 financial literacy grant to AgeSpan of Lawrence and Danvers for its Financial Resources Program. Formerly Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley and North Shore, AgeSpan will use the grant to strengthen financial engagement among older adults by offering essential money management support.
“The Financial Resources Program offered to older adults by AgeSpan aligns with the mission of both The Bank and Donald E. Garrant Foundation to advance financial education programs to all age groups,” Raichelle L. Kallery, TSB president and chief executive officer, and Donald E. Garrant Foundation director said. “This is especially important to older adults on fixed incomes who may feel overwhelmed by bills and budgeting, and who are often the target of financial scams.”
Established in 2001, the Donald E Garrant Foundation, Inc. of The Savings Bank supports projects that focus on financial education: banking, money, saving, investing, borrowing, credit, and economics.
