The Savings Bank Sponsors Presentation By Holocaust Survivor, Tibor Spitz

The Savings Bank (TSB) was a sponsor of the recent presentation of the Chabad of Wakefield’s “A Historic Evening of Inspiration from a Survivor of the Holocaust” which featured the first-hand account of survivor Dr. Tibor Spitz (third from left) and the music of renowned violinist Yonah Zur of the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras.

The 96-year old was 10 when his family’s property was confiscated under Nazi rule and 12 when he and his family went into hiding where they remained for three years, seven months of which the family lived under the snow and ice in the Slovak Mountains.

Dr. Spitz provided a harrowing account of the atrocities of the Holocaust, and, while most of his extended family were murdered, he survived and went on to become a scientist, inventor, and PhD.
